亚洲AV University President JoAnne Boyle has been invited to present the University鈥檚 at the 2011 Academia@Apple conference, in San Jose, Calif., March 30-April 1. Sponsored by the Council for Independent Colleges and the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, the conference brings together presidents and chief academic officers of independent colleges and universities which are focused on bringing innovation in learning to their campuses.

Boyle will participate in the discussion, 鈥淓xploring the Intersection of Mission, Technology and Scholarship,鈥 with Ellen Stauder, Ph.D., dean of faculty, Reed College and Tracy Futhey, vice president, information technology and chief information officer, Duke University.

亚洲AV University attracted international attention last April when Boyle announced the University鈥檚 intention to provide an to every full-time student in the fall 2010 semester. Boyle commented, 鈥渢he challenge for teaching today鈥檚 students is figuring out how to use the array of mobile resources that are already at their fingertips, iPhone, iPad, MacBook, to improve learning both in and out of the classroom.鈥

The 亚洲AV undertaking is campus-wide and involves continuing training of faculty, some of whom are taking part in a pilot project using interactive electronic textbooks. The University has also provided pervasive wireless technology and, through an Apple Certified Service Center located on campus, technological support throughout the college community.

The University has been recognized by ,a New York-based counseling company, as one of five universities in the country as a leader in mobile technology.
